Site Changelog | 07-08-2025

So... I've been working on a few changes to my site(yes, since January) and I'm excited to share them with you all! I'm constantly trying to make my site better, and I believe this new update brings a lot to the table. Let's look at what's new.

Domain Merge

First off, I've merged my portfolio and blog into one central hub:

My portfolio is now at tinotenda.co, formerly tinotenda.me
My blog is now at tinotenda.co/blog

Fresh UI

This is by far the biggest and most noticeable change. I've implemented a new, cleaner, and more consistent design across the entire site. The layout and readability have been improved for both desktop and mobile devices.

Notifications

I've added a real-time notification system to keep you updated with new articles and personal messages from me.

PWA Support

You can now install the site as an app on all platforms. It works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and yes, even Microsoft Edge (for the 3 people still using it).

Comments (No Signups Required)

I’ve added a fully functional comment system to the site. The best part? No signups are required, so you can just drop your thoughts whenever you want. The system also supports Gravatar for profile pictures.

Article Housekeeping

I've moved all my old, low-quality, AI and incorrectly formatted content to a separate archive at archive.tinotenda.co. This ensures that only the best content is front and center.

Intelligent Theme System

The site now has an intelligent theming system that changes with the seasons and holidays, like New Year's, Valentine's Day, Independence Day, Mother's/Father's Day, and Christmas. There are a total of 20 themes (light and dark for each event), and you can also switch themes manually whenever you like.

5 Unique Hero Sections

This was a pointless but fun addition, the homepage now randomly cycles through five custom hero sections to add some variety and spice to your Browse experience.

Richer Blogging Experience

I've improved post formatting, added tables of contents, and enhanced the typography to make the blog content feel even better now.

New Topic System and Search

I've replaced the old Tags and Categories with an all-inclusive grouping system called "Topics." Additionally, I've implemented a more intelligent search that is fast and scans the entire article to find the keyword you're looking for.

Conclusion

With these major updates now live, I'm done with the heavy lifting and can get back to what I love doing: writing articles. Expect a return to my regular posting schedule soon.
